"이런, 안됐군. 여자가 버렸나봐" 남아 있어봤자 아무 의미 없어. 차라리 집으로 돌아가는게 낫겠어 나 혼자 그랬던 것처럼. 당연하다는 듯이 또 다시 홀로.   어제까지만 해도 내가 활발하고 즐거웠다는 걸 생각하니 앞날을 내다 보아봤자 내가 하려 했던 역할을 해낼 수 없을 것 같아. 하지만, 날 쓰러뜨릴 것처럼 현실은 내 주위에 다가와 많은 힘을 가하지 않고 그저 살짝 스쳐갔는데도 날 산산이 부숴놓고 날 의심 속에 남겨 두었어 하느님? 은총이라구? 만약 정말 신이 존재한다면 왜 곤궁한 때에 날 버리는 거야. 난 다시 정말로 혼자야. 그게 당연하다는 듯이.   고칠 수 없는 이 세상에서 마음에 상처받은 사람들이 더 있을거야. 보살핌도 받지 못하고 내 버려둔 채... 우린 어떻게 해야 하나? 어떻게 해야 하나?   당연하다는 듯이, 또 혼자야. 이제 지난 세월과 무엇이든 떠오르는 것을 돌이켜 보니, 아버지가 돌아가셨을 때 울었던 게 생각나. 눈물을 감출 생각도 하지 않고.   그리고 내 어머니가 65세가 되셨을 때, 신께서 어머니의 영혼을 편히 해주시길 어머님께서 사랑하시던 유일한 남자인 아버지를 왜 데려가셨는지 이해하실 수 없었지. 몹시도 상처받은 가슴으로 다시 삶을 시작하도록 남겨둔 채. 나의 위로에도 불구하고 그후로 아무런 말씀도 하시지 않았어. 어머니가 돌아가셨을 때 난 하루종일 울고 울었어 또 홀로 된거야. 그게 당연한 것처럼, 또 다시 나 홀로.
