5 ways to increase your self-esteem, not pride
Pride refers to the feeling of boasting and boasting of yourself or something related to yourself. On the other hand, self-esteem refers to a feeling of dignity and respect for oneself.
1. Do not compare
Don't compare yourself to others. Especially the people you meet online… . According to psychologists, it's a battle between reality and fantasy. It is too obvious to lose.
Instead of comparing yourself to others, you should focus on what you want. You shouldn't even be aware of other people's eyes.
People often put a lot of effort into achieving what others expect of them. However, I emphasize again and again, the important thing is to know what is really important to you.
2. Think positively
As an adult, the first step to having healthy self-esteem is to challenge negative beliefs about yourself. If you think critically about yourself, write about it.
And it will be helpful to write down the evidence that contradicts it. When thinking or talking about yourself, it's important to have a positive gaze, just like a good friend.
3. Set goals in the short term
Goals that are too big and ambitious are prone to failure. If you fail repeatedly, your confidence will be compromised, no matter who you were.
Try to set realizable goals. As achievements accumulate, your self-esteem will increase. It is also a way to break down your goals and achieve them step by step.
4. Face the reality
It is not wise to create your own world and hide within its borders. It may be comfortable for a while, but long-term exposure can be counterproductive.
Psychologists stress that ignoring reality can never be the answer. You have to face the problem. That's where the change begins.
5. Exercise regularly
If you have low self-esteem, it is easy to neglect your body. When you're under stress, you should get into the habit of exercising instead of resorting to alcohol or drugs, and research shows that exercise plays an important role in feeling self-esteem and happiness.
